Choose An Extension From Clearview…

ADD MORE SPACE TO YOUR HOME

This time of year, we receive many enquiries from customers hoping to get a new living space installed ahead of summer. They often have many questions about the different types of extensions as they try to figure out whether they want a conservatory or orangery, a solid roof or a glass roof, a space to relax or a space for their children to play.

They often have many questions about the different types of extensions as they try to figure out whether they want a conservatory or orangery, a solid roof or a glass roof, a space to relax or a space for their children to play.

Sometimes we get asked about modular extensions and we feel the need to warn our customers about the risk.

At Clearview, we’re all about quality home improvement, which is why we’ve never even considered selling modular extensions to our customers. There are a number of reasons why.

First of all, let us explain to you how a modular extension differs from the traditional.

A modular extension is a prefabricated extension. Mostly built in a factory, they are transported to homes to be assembled and installed quickly on site.

They are a world away from the customisable, high-quality extensions that we build, tailored to your home’s exact measurements and style.

Homeowners choose modular extensions for their quick turnaround and cheaper cost.

Getting a modular extension may sound tempting. But we ask you – do you want things doing the fast way, or the right way?

When it comes to our homes, most people understand the importance of doing things properly, without cutting corners.

While a modular extension may save you money now, the lifecycle is much shorter. This is because the building quality of conventional extensions is far superior than a modular extension.

You may even struggle to find a company to build a modular extension with a guarantee. If you do, it will be unlikely that they will offer a guarantee as comprehensive as ours, which increases your risk of being stuck with an extension that is unusable.

If you think there is a possibility you may sell your home in the future, you should also reconsider. Modular extensions come under non-standard constructions, as they have been built using materials that don’t conform to the ‘standard’.

This could pose issues for the buyer as it can be more difficult to secure a mortgage on a home with a non-standard construction.
