One of the primary differences between a conservatory and orangery is that a conservatory contains a greater amount of glass. This doesn’t mean that an orangery shouldn’t still feel incredibly bright inside during daylight hours, not when it has a very large glass roof occupying the majority of the design. It’s the roof, patio doors and various windows that have made this orangery the family’s favourite place to spend their time at home – reading, gaming and toy playing all goes on regularly as the configuration of the design has established plenty floor space.
The owners of the orangery were conscious though of their kids wanting to play outside in fine weather, so they asked for the incorporation of patio doors. Accompanied with deftly styled side panels, they offer a neat little opening into the garden where swing ball is just one of several activities enjoyed.
When unoccupied and sealed off the outside world you fully appreciate the level of detail that has gone into the orangery and how much glass encloses you in outstanding fashion. Step outside and that level of detail is no less impressive when you spot the roof and the side set of windows. This orangery sets the bar supremely high for all others.
