Invest In An Orangery In Time For Summer

This seemingly never-ending winter is making us eagerly countdown to summer and look ahead to better weather at a time of year when it’s a real convenience to have an orangery installed.

When the sun is beating down and temperatures hot up you will find yourself itching to get inside its glamourous surrounds as orangery living is unlike spending time anywhere else in the house.

It’s thermally efficient enough for all-year round use, but there’s no doubt that summer is when an orangery comes into its own for a number of reasons:

Garden views

Slowly but surely your garden will be beginning to grow again and when it’s in full bloom there’s nothing like being able to gaze at it from the extravagant setting an orangery offers.

Several of our orangery designs come with floor-to-ceiling windows so you get amazing transparency all around you when sat inside. If you love getting out and sunning yourself in the garden as much as possible in summer, you could always ask for bi-folding, patio or French doors to be added to the design so that you have an exit point that directly connects the structure to the garden.

Thermally efficient

There’s a lower volume of glass in an orangery compared to a conservatory, but there’s still plenty of it. Some may worry that this will cause the space to overheat over the summer months. Not so!

Even in the middle of a heatwave (fingers crossed) you can expect the interior to be cool enough to use as the glass has the thermal efficient properties needed to cope with extreme temperatures.

This works in reverse in winter. Any cold will be kept out and the glass performs effectively enough to store any internal warmth generated by your boiler.

Play area
