Show Your Windows And Doors Some Love This Valentine’s Day

“Love is in the air, everywhere I look around.” That’s the kind of atmosphere you should try to generate at home for Valentine’s Day if a nice romantic night in is on the cards for you and your partner.

Red Composite Doors

In the lead-up to next Thursday, tear up the takeaway menus and hone your culinary skills as a well-cooked hearty home-made meal is guaranteed to go down a storm with your loved one. You should then pay attention to key areas inside of your house such as your windows and doors, as showing them a bit of loving will make the occasion extra special and extra memorable.

These are the types of loving touches for windows and doors that we recommend any old romantic applies if they want to treat their significant other to a Valentine’s Day they won’t forget…

Give your windows and front door a good clean

When your partner arrives home from work you want them to be greeted with a gleaming set of windows and shiny front door.

It’s so simple to clean your windows when they’re made from UPVC as you only need a wet cloth to remove any traces of dirt from the frames and the same goes for when you own a composite door. The glazed portions of your windows and door should also be left completely spotless.

You will find it more difficult getting traditional timber windows and doors into good condition, but do your best in the meantime and get them replaced at a later date.

Scatter red rose petals on your window sills

Red roses are synonymous with Valentine’s Day and have been since the 19th Century. If buying a big bunch of them is a little out of your price range or a bit too corny for your liking, you could always get a big bag of red rose petals that you can sprinkle over your main window sills. Any rose petals you have left could be scattered across your dining table in readiness for the meal you have prepared.

Display a heart-shaped wreath on your front door

Door wreaths are used a lot at Christmas but you could break the mould and hang a Valentine’s inspired wreath on your door on the countdown to the 14th.

Most Valentine’s wreaths come in red and a heart shape, as you can see here on the online marketplace Etsy. Good with your hands? You could try making your own door wreath and personalise it in some fashion.
