The impressive glass frontage is the showpiece attraction of the conservatory due to the middle two glass panes almost stretching from the apex of the roof, down to the small brickwork base, but that only tells half of the story. Unlike the exterior, permanently coated in a traditional rosewood finish to accompany the correspondingly coloured windows and roofline, the inside of the UPVC frames is finished in a timeless white. Only once you have entered the interior of the building do you also fully acknowledge how much glass has been utilised in the design.
Almost everywhere you look, glass surrounds you. Whereas in days gone by such a high quantity of glass may have resulted in a conservatory overheating in the summer, the reflective glass coating prevents it from feeling like an oven and eliminates glare. Once summer arrives and garden living becomes the desired lifestyle choice, the outwardly opening side French doors can be gently pushed to expose the orangery to the outside world. But exiting such an extraordinary setting will be difficult, particularly when the sun starts to set, as the spotlights and crystal chandelier will compensate for any diminishing sunshine and illuminate the every facet of the space like you wouldn’t believe.
